A few weeks ago I packed my bags and traveled back to New York for Mike and Sarah's wedding. We first met last fall, and I shot their engagement session in Central Park and we immediately hit it off. Their wedding was held at the beautiful West Hills Country Club. When Mike and Sarah first went to search for venues, all they had at that time were blueprints as it had not yet been built. They could not have picked a more beautiful venue. The staff there were amazing to work with and kept the day running without a hitch.
Sarah spoke to me a few days before her wedding and was worried that it would rain. I told her I had a good feeling that everything would be fine. On the way to Middletown it poured. Holy buckets it poured. I was so worried that Sarah would have to change her plans and move the ceremony indoors. I got there and began shooting her shoes and rings and just as I began to take the dress outside to photograph it, it started sprinkling again. I bit my lip and crossed my fingers that it would clear up soon. Meanwhile, Sarah sat in the bride's room getting ready and seemed so unbelievably calm.
A few minutes before the ceremony, it miraculously stopped raining and we were able to do all of the portraits outside and after the ceremony, a RAINBOW appeared. It was absolutely beautiful and something we will all remember forever.
Also, southern readers take note....people in New York like to party. There was at least 4 straight hours of dancing and it was an amazing party full of love.
